Parallel Dynamic Subdivision of Parametric Surfaces

This was a two-person project for the Parallel Architecture class at Carnegie Mellon University.

This project is an implementation of the subdivision technique described in this paper. We used CUDA for subdivision and OpenGL for rendering.

The technique is a way to dynamically subdivides bezier patches while taking account of level of detail. This technique is new method to prevent cracks in subdivided meshes of bezier patches and other parametric surfaces.

Visual Story Projects

Visual Story is a class at the ETC required for first semester students. It is more or less a introductory film class for non-film majors.

Here are two projects from that class: the music video project (right) and the 48 hour film project (bottom).

Both of these were shot with the same 4 team members: Rex Hsieh, Xiao Li, , Ari Novick, Albert Shih
